The success of Korean drama has paved the way for drama from other countries like Japanese series, which are noticed to be as engaging as Korean drama.

Japanese drama occupy subjects which are considered taboo in K-series. Storyline

Korean series focuses more on the romantic part of the storyline rather than the story itself. For instance, it's possible to see two doctors falling in love in a hospital in a Korean series. This series emphasizes a romantic angle a lot more than what is required. The morals of a Korean Series are realized by the end of the story since they are filled with twists and turns, which keep carefully the audience hooked.

A Japanese series centers around the story and doesn't let deviations take over. The series can carry on without the introduction of another genre in the story. Like Korean Series, Japanese series may also be unpredictable and have interesting twists. Nowadays, Japanese series are starting to resemble Korean series.

A Korean series takes 16-20 episodes per season with a few filler episodes, each running from 40 minutes to at least one hour. Nevertheless, the series doesn't fail to engage the viewer. Japanese series, however, run limited to 10-12 episodes per season without compromises on the quality of the action. Each episode of a Japanese series runs from 30 minutes to at least one hour.
